Quantic for developers
Your portfolio and Quantic's dividend data, for your own scripts and tools: a JSON API today, a command-line client and a desktop widget on the way.
The JSON API
Read your portfolio and public dividend data over HTTPS.
The command line
Your holdings, dividends and income in the terminal.
A desktop widget
Your next dividend in the top bar of your desktop.

The JSON API
AvailableA read-only, versioned JSON API over HTTPS. Your own portfolio needs a token; public dividend data answers without one.
https://quantic.finance/api/v1
Get a token
- Sign in and open Settings. Under “AI and API access”, find “Personal access tokens”.
- Name the token after where it will live, like “laptop” or “backup script”, and create it. It's shown only once, so copy it then.
- Send it in the Authorization header. Keep it in an environment variable or your keychain, never in code you share.
Tokens are read-only: nothing on this API can change your data. Revoking a token in Settings stops it at once. The same token also works for the AI connector.
Your first request
export QUANTIC_TOKEN=qtc_… curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $QUANTIC_TOKEN" \ https://quantic.finance/api/v1/me
Public data needs no token:
curl "https://quantic.finance/api/v1/calendar?days=30"
Endpoints
All are GET. Where an endpoint takes portfolio, it's one of your portfolio names; without it, the answer covers all your portfolios.
| Endpoint | Token | Returns |
|---|---|---|
| /api/v1/me | Required | Who the token belongs to. The cheapest way to check one. |
| /api/v1/portfolios | Required | Your portfolios, the default one first. |
| /api/v1/holdings | Required | Your positions: shares and average cost. Optional: portfolio. |
| /api/v1/dividends | Required | Dividends paid to you, newest first: gross, withholding and net. Optional: symbol, from, to, portfolio. |
| /api/v1/income | Required | Your forward annual income, gross and net, and a year-by-year projection. Optional: years (1–50), drip, portfolio. |
| /api/v1/calendar | Not needed | Stocks going ex-dividend soon, soonest first. Optional: days (1–120). |
| /api/v1/stocks | Not needed | Search by ticker or name. Required: q. With a token, it also searches beyond the stocks Quantic tracks. |
| /api/v1/stocks/{symbol} | Optional | One stock: price, dividend profile, safety and scores. With a token, the price is live. |
Conventions
- Errors
- Every error has the same shape and the matching HTTP status. Branch on the code; the message is for people and may change.
-
{"error": {"code": "not_found", "message": "…"}} - Money
- Amounts are decimal strings, never floats, and always come with their currency.
-
{"amount": "1234.56", "currency": "EUR"} - Rates
- Plain numbers, named for their unit: a name ending in _pct is a percentage, any other rate is a fraction (0.05 is 5%).
-
yield_pct: 3.1 · growth_rate: 0.05 - Dates
- ISO 8601. Timestamps are in UTC.
-
2026-10-08 - Bad parameters
- A malformed parameter is an error, never silently ignored. A number out of range is clamped to the nearest allowed value.
-
422 invalid_params - Caching
- Every response carries an ETag. Send it back as If-None-Match and an unchanged answer comes back as 304, with no body.
-
If-None-Match → 304 - Limits
- Without a token, 60 requests a minute per IP address. With one, there's no fixed limit: poll every few minutes, not every second.
-
429 rate_limited - Versioning
- v1 only grows: new endpoints, parameters and fields. Ignore fields you don't know. Anything that would break a client goes in a new version.
-
/api/v1 → /api/v2
The OpenAPI document
Every parameter and every response field, described in OpenAPI 3. Generate a client from it rather than writing one by hand.
/api/v1/openapi.jsonThe command line
In developmentquantic, a command-line client built on this API: your holdings, dividends and income as tables in the terminal, or as JSON for scripts. One file to install, and like the API, it only reads.
quantic auth login # stores your token in the system keyring quantic holdings quantic income --years 5 quantic calendar --days 30 # no account needed quantic status --json # one document for status bars and scripts
It can't be installed yet, and the commands may change before the first release. It's built in the open: github.com/fleveque/quantic-cli
A desktop widget
PlannedA widget for the top bar of Omarchy, the Linux desktop: your next ex-dividend date at a glance, and a panel with the next two weeks of dividends and this month's income so far.
Amounts stay hidden in the bar unless you turn them on, since a bar is visible when you share your screen. It runs on the command-line client, so it comes after it.
